Utcon Engineers was founded as a partnership concern by Mr. N.M. Udgaonkar and Mr. V. S. Tambe in 1983, offering design and consultancy services to the manufacturing industry. While the early focus was on the development and adaptation of special purpose machines (SPMs)to suit the requirements of the Indian market; in response to customer needs, Utcon began to offer its coustomers, a broader and more comprehensive range of turn-key solutions that encompassed end fixtures, SPMs, industrial washing machines and machines and material handling systems. Utcon Engineers was incorporated as a private limited company in 1995, and has been operating out of its current premises in MIDC, Bhosari near Pune since 1998.

Most manufacturing concerns that approach us to do with a view to increase efficiencies, reduce worker burden and fatigue, reduce manpower, provide increase reliability and consistency, meet faster cycle times. We start with understanding our client's specific requirements. We take special pride in working with our customers starting right from the conception stage up to the final commissioning of the project, and in providing prompt back-up, service and guidance, after the systems have been in operation. We then propose, design, manufacture and install systems the most suitable, ergonomic and cost-effective systems that best serve our customers needs.
In accordance with company's policy of Continuous Improvement in every area, UTCON decided to implement ISO 9000 systems and has target to achieve certification before March 2005.
Since, from last one decade the Company has made tremendous growth in all areas. This is the result of great efforts, good relationship and co-ordination between the management-worker. Our company we call as ' One Family working under One Roof '.

OUR FACILITIES :
Our office and manufacturing facilities are located in MIDC Bhosari, the heart of Pune's industrial belt. Presently the total area of our premises is 20, 000 sq. feet of which 10,000 sq. feet has been built up . We are having in-house all required facilities for general machining, fabrication, assembly, trials and validation of all machines and systems.
Utcon's biggest strength is its vast experienve in thoroughly understanding our customers requirements and coming up with innovative solutions to address those requirements. Thus our emphasis has been on providing our design team access and training to the latest technlolgy and 3-D modeling software to enable them to create general schemes, model and detailed manufacturing drawings in the shortest posible time. We primarily see ourselves as system integrators. We have developed a large base of high quality vendors to whom all routine machining, heat-treatment, surface treatment is sub-contracted to. |

SYSTEMS & PROCESSES :
• Assess and evaluate existing process at customer end thoroughly.
• Understand customer requirement thoroughly and problems being encountered if any. • Developing and discussing alternative proposals designed to address the customer requirement.
• Evaluation of the different proposals together with customer to decide the most effective and appropriate solution in terms of value for money, engineering feasibility, implementation time, scalability and other parameters.
• Development of final designs and detailed engineering drawings.
• Commencement of manufacture after approval from customer end.
• Procurement of all Pneumatic, Hydraulics, Electrical Motors, Gearboxes, and Electronic sensors, PLC’s drives of proven international or Indian make, as specified by customer. • Sub-contracting of manufacturing activities such as Machining, Heat-treatment, Anodizing, PU Coating, Electroplating, Flame Hardening to quality vendors in MIDC.
• Rigorous inward and in-process inspection.
• Final assembly of system including all hydraulic, Pneumatic Sub-assemblies, Electrical Control panel, PLC Programming is carried out at our manufacturing base in Bhosari.
• Inspection and trials at our works in Bhosari.
• Final Commissioning and integration of our system on-site to complete satisfaction of customer. |
